2nd Annual JSAC Hogs 4 Dogs Poker Run

Come and Join JSAC for the 2nd Annual Hogs 4 Dogs Poker Run for a ride full of fun and adventure! All proceeds will benefit the Jersey Shore Animal Center.

Ride starts and ends at Harley Davidson/Buell of Ocean County. Pre-registration fee: $15 for driver/$10 for passenger. Day of Event fee: $20 for driver/$10 for passenger.
There will be FREE lunch, raffle drawings at 12:30, Free lapel pins and t-shirts. Prizes, DJ, Vendors and so much more!

Jersey Shore Animal Center Holiday Traditions Gift Auction
Please come and celebrate with us at our Holiday Traditions Gift Auction on Sunday, October 24th, 2010: 1-4 pm at The Elks Club in Brick. Admissions will be $15.00 per person, with each paid admission you will receive 25 free tickets to be able to win a fantistic gift basket! There will be complimentary coffee, tea and dessert, there will also be a cash bar. The gift baskets will range from dog and cat baskets to a spa and nails basket to a flat screen t.v! Ticket sales start August 1st, so call now and reserve your spot.
** Call the number below to purchase your tickets or stop in to the shelter, Credit Card or Cash only.
** You will NOT receive your tickets until the day of the event, your name will go on a pre-paid reservation list when you purchase the admission tickets.
** Additional tickets sales will be at the door, day of the event. $10 for additional sheet of 25 tickets.
** 3 Tiers of Gifts ranging in price of what the gift is worth; Tier 1 - $1-100, Tier 2- $100-250, Teir 3 - $250 and higher

The Jersey Shore Animal Center has adoption events at Petco in Brick and in Howell. Please check back for times and dates of our next adoption event.
5th Annual Lending a Paw Musical Concert
By: Veterans Memorial Middle School Chorus and String Ensemble
Looking for a fun fulfilled night out? Look no further! The Veterans Memorial Middle is school hosting their 5th Annual Lending a Paw Musical Concert that will benefit the Jersey Shore Animal Center on Wednesday, December 15th, 2010!! This concert will be a hit with locals and guests alike. The students participating in the concert will sing and perform and provide you with exciting entertainment of all animal related songs and dances to go along with the theme; "Lending a Paw." The concert will take place at Lake Riviera Middle School's (located on Beaverson Blvd in Brick) multipurpose room. The show starts at 7pm. JSAC will have a table set up the night of the event to help support the show along with other items that will be available from the students. The students, parents and teachers were able to raise over $3,000 last year and we are hoping to go even higher this year, so please support the students of Veterans Memorial Middle School and the Jersey Shore Animal Center!
Dog Walk for Cancer
Commuity Medical Center will be hosting their 7th Annual "Dog Walk for Cancer" on September 12th, 2010 from 10am to 4pm. The Jersey Shore Animal Center along with hundred other venders and rescue/shelters will be there to give support to the cause. All proceeds will go to support the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center and all the cancer programs and services at the Community Medical Center. Come and bring your furry friend or not to help support the cause. There will be lots of fun activites such as Frisbee Dog Competition, NJ Dog Whisperer, Dog Sport Demos, Dog Blessings, Magician, Doggie Kissing Booth, Pet Pertraits, Games, Contests, an Animal Communicator and so much more! Brick Dog and Cat Licenses for 2010
All Brick Township dogs and cats 7 months and older must be licensed during the month of January for the 2010 year.
A certificate of rabies vaccination must be presented and must be current through November 2010 for a one-year license or through November 2012 for a three-year license. Also, for dogs and cats that have been spayed or neutered, a statement from the veterinarian must be presented.
Licenses may be obtained either by mail or in person at the Municipal Building, 401 Chambers Bridge Road, Monday through Friday between 9AM and 4PM. A check or exact change is needed. If requesting by mail, a stamped, self-addressed envelope must be enclosed.
License fees are as follows:
For a spayed/neutered animal - $10 for one year, $26 for three years
For a non-spayed/neutered animal - $13 for one year, $35 for three years
There is an administrative charge of $1 per month for any dog or cat registered after January 31st of each year.

Jersey Shore Animal Center on TV
If you live in Brick or Pt. Pleasant, be sure not to miss our weekly TV show on Comcast Cable Channel 97. The show, which features news about the shelter and many of the wonderful animals available for adoption can be seen on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8PM and Wednesdays at 7PM.
Dog Park Opens in Ocean County
The Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation has opened a second off-leash dog park in the rear of Ocean County Park, off Route 88 in Lakewood. There is an annual fee to use the facility, $20 for the owner's first dog and $10 for each additional dog. Please call the Parks Department for further details at (732) 506-9090.
