Spaying or neutering your pet is extremely important, not only to fight pet overpopulation, but also for your pet's health. Spaying and neutering greatly reduces or eliminates the risk of several types of cancer and can help prevent unwanted behaviors such as spraying, fighting and roaming.

Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic
Jersey Shore Animal Center, in conjunction with the Ocean County Animal Facility and their Volunteer Auxiliary and the Ocean County Health Department is sponsoring a series of low cost spay/neuter clinics. The next clinic will be held on Monday, July 28th, 2008. The cost per cat, male or female, is $30 each, and the cost per dog is $45. There is a limit of two pets per household and a weight limit for dogs of approximately 40 pounds (please call for additional information). Registration for the clinic is required and applicants must qualify for participation based upon household income. Income verification is necessary, however no pay stub is required if an applicant has proof of any public assistance, such as PAAD, Family Care, U.S. Food Stamps, WIC, the federal school lunch program or other entitlement program. Rabies vaccinations will be included and dissolvable stitches will be used for the spay/neuter surgery. Please call (732) 657-8086 for additional information or to register.

Luv My Pet - Low-cost Vaccination Service
Vaccination services are held at Petco stores on Saturdays and Sundays. Please check www.luvmypet.com or call (732) 745-1005 for a current schedule. Luv My Pet provides a wide range of low cost services including vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, feline leukemia and FIV testing, deworming, fecal testing and microchipping.

Monmouth County SPCA holds a no-exam Vaccine Clinic for cats and dogs every Friday from 1-3PM, no appointment needed. Low cost services available include rabies and distemper vaccines, heartworm testing, FELV/FIV testing and microchipping.
Ocean County Health Department - Free Rabies Clinics
Free rabies vaccination clinics are offered for healthy dogs and cats with a minimum age requirement of 3 months. If your dog or cat has been previously vaccinated, you must bring proof of prior vaccination with you. Clinics are open to residents from any municipality.
